MediTENS XP for Labour Pain relief
MediTENS XP has been specifically designed to have a 'burst' or 'trigger' button for use throughout labour. This button, increases the intensity of the pain relief stimulation to the maximum whilst you are experiencing a contraction, and when pressed again, reduces the intensity to its preset level. At the onset of labour, simply apply the 4 gel pads to your back as directed, and increase the intensity to the desired level. TENS provides a mild and comfortable pulsing sensation through these pads which in turn provide you with a drug free, higlhy effective and non-invasive method of labour pain relief. |

MediTENS XP Maternity Unit
MediTENS XP is a clinically
proven, safe and effective means of combating pain using TENS
or Trancutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. The MediTens XP is
a dual channel, digital device which provides an easy to use and attractive,
hand-held unit that can be used where and when needed to help manage
your pain. TENS provides pain relief in two ways, Pain gate-control
which blocks the pain pathway to the brain and masks the pain sensation,
and Endorphin Release, which encourages the release of the body's
own, natural pain relieving chemicals to fight pain.
MediTens XP provides Pain relief, through pads placed on the skin, in two ways:
Pain Gate Control: The Pain Gate Control programme delivers a comfortable tingling sensation, this blocks the pain pathway to the brain, jumbling the message of 'pain' to the brain and you register this pulsing sensation instead of the pain sensation.
Endorphin Release: For the Endorphin Release programme, the stimulation feels similar to a tapping sensation. After 20-40 minutes of this, the body releases endorphins, the body's own natural pain relieving hormones and these continue to remain in the system up to several hours after treatment has ceased.
The MediTENS XP is a five programme digital TENS device, and is unique in that it offers a special combination TENS programme which delivers immediate and long-term pain relief for both acute and chronic pain.
