Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) explained
EMS can be defined as "the application of electrical stimulation to the peripheral nervous system (those nerves and neurons that are contained outside the brain and spinal chord) to contract a muscle."

EMS is the application of mild electrical pulses, through pads on the surface of the skin, to re-educate and strengthen weakened muscles. This electrical stimulation, applied to the motor nerve, causes the muscles to contract, helping to activate and strengthen the muscle over time.
